Interno Di Tempio Indu (Inside an Indian temple)This is a copper halogen lamp which has been used to create a detailed image. This is an image of the inside of a Hindu temple where everybody seems to be praying or having a ceremony. A halogen lamp is an incandescent lamp that has a small amount of a halogen such as iodine or bromine added. The combination of the halogen gas and the tungsten filament produces a halogen cycle chemical reaction which redeposits evaporated tungsten back onto the filament, increasing its life. The lamp is placed inside some copper which has a special lip with a pattern etched or cut into it. When the light is shone through it it produces a stretched image onto a flat surface. Another method may be that a stencil or piece of film is special made to have the design cut into it which acts as a filter for only the image light to pass through. This is but one iteration in his series of Copper Sheet art work.
