Photoshoot I
I was worried about the thin lines between the gemstone as I thought that they would fall out or be to thin to recognize, but the angle at which I took the photos covered up any slight mistakes I made. I am rather proud of the 2nd 3rd and 4th photos, the 6th one I took was me experimenting with contrast.
What did you do in your shoot?
In my photoshoot I us inverted stencils to prooduce a shaped light on a dark background. Why?
I chose the gem shaped image due to recently watching a youtube series called RWBY, but from the very beginning I had a clear idea about what I wanted to achieve. EBI?
I could of took more photos as I did not reach the minimum limit and I could have also made my stencils before hand as to not waste time in lessons. |
How?
I cut out some inverted stencils and shone a light through the back of them onto a dark surface. WWW?
The photos came out clearly and the stencils held together well. |
Photoshoot II
What did I do in this shoot? In this shoot I used alot more templates of new images as-well as some of the same templates just re-cut to a higher standered.
How?To produce the colored light, I took some old J20 bottles and filled them with various colored liquid after removing the labels, I then shone a phone light through the bottoms and side of the glass to produce a bright light which I used to make the shadows.
Why?I wanted to top my previous work by introducing new elements.
|
EBII had a shaky hand so most of the photos I took were blurry leaving me with not that many clear ones to upload.
WWWThe results from my endeavor where outstanding! Leaving me wondering how I can out-do myself in the next shoot....

Photo shoot III
What did I do in this shoot?Well... in this photoshoot I decided to not use coloured light anymore but to instead create light! Let me explain, I thought I would use colour light to project an image onto a shadow of myself to make it out like im holding light, from that I decided to actually hold light instead of pretend.
Why?I half wanted to play with fire and half wanted to top my last shoot in its creative elements, so... that's the best answer I can give without making stuff up.
How?I just got lots of alcoholic hand gel and soaked some cotton wool balls in them, then I lined several objects with tinfoil (so they didn't burn) and set it on fire.... just burning stuff really, you know? Simple chemistry.
|
WWWNobody died, the photos came out in a nice way and I didn't set fire to anything that was important.
EBII was constantly interrupted by George and Ben, this was annoying and just really un-focused me so if I could re do it without them then... good things.
|
Photo shoot IV
What did you do in this shoot?Well... I basically combined my 2nd and 3rd shoot to make water, but on fire. See it sounds cool does it not?
How?Same as the 2nd shoot but this time I left the cap of and put a small amount of hand-sanitizer in the top, then i lit it on fire. Simples!
Why?I just realy like to try new things and this is one of those things. (Plus its just fri'ken awesome!)
Extra CreditI would like to thank my lovely assistant... (Drum roll *JazzHands*) Sam! He has helped take all my photos and just went along with my crazy ideas.

EBIIf the light was brighter I could of shown the whole stencil clearer but as of the low light it became hard to make out.
WWWI did enjoy the fact i could persuade Sir to give me my control over fire... little as it is, fire is fun

In the style of shoot, Lottie Rineiger
Like my previous in the style of shoot, I did one for Lottie Rineiger. I had already done the research about her and had seen some of her work so I had a general idea for what I was going to do right of the bat however due to time constraints (and the fact I had about 0.03% of an idea of HOW to do what I was doing) It came out a little less pleasing than I had hoped for, still nice to look at though, however! that is why I did a re shoot and uploaded that instead, the re shoot came out much better. All of these are unedited so obviously it will look as if they are unfinished, there is a final piece a the end that will be edited and finished.
Final Photo
Here is the final photo, like all my other final photos, it is edited and refined so it looks like a final piece.
Since this was a slightly rushed job my finished photo was not all that great, however, during the retake I was able to correct alot of errors I was making. In the first shoot I did not stick my pieces down, nor did I properly block out all excess light that was getting into the frame. In my re-shoot I was able to correct this as well as getting more steady shots by using a tripod.
Its The Final Image... Dununun nunSo, its my final image... to me it was an obvious choice as the original copy (see if you can tell which one it is) had all the features of a good photo; lighting, focus, contrast, and the other things I cant remember. The hard part was actually trying to make it better, but I did anyway. I am going to write more here at some point... ( this is a while after I did the shoot now ) In hindsight I would have gone with one of my first colored stencil works but I always almost trust my gut so i'm sticking with what I have. Plus I have had this image praised by some rather upper class people so that i'm happy about.
Below is a quick mock-up to show generally what I did in photoshop... |
